The California State Loan Guarantee Program (SLGP) was established in 1968 to create jobs and opportunities for small businesses, targeting those owned by minorities, women, and the disabled. The Program is unrelated to any federal Small Business Administration (SBA) guarantee program. SBDC-OC issues loan guarantees on behalf of the State of California. Guarantees are backed directly by a state trust fund which can be leveraged up to five times. The Corporation may issue a Loan Guarantee regardless of the geographical location of the business as long as loan proceeds are utilized to support business operations primarily domiciled in California.
