On Nov. 4 – 6, leadership, staff members and board directors of Small Business Development Corporation of Orange County participated in the 40th NAGGL Annual Conference in Las Vegas. They engaged with lending industry leaders and participants who are actively making a difference in the lives of small business owners around the country. The conference and unique trade association is dedicated to supporting lenders and professionals in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 7(a) business loan program. Conference education sessions covered such topics as understanding lender oversight and the mechanics of the secondary marketplace for loans.

SBDC-OC partners with lenders in providing state loan guarantees. As part of the government guaranteed lending industry, the agency’s continued learning and relationship-building through attendance of the NAGGL conference is valuable in the pursuit of its mission of helping small businesses acquire the capital they need to succeed. “It is important for us to understand other government programs,” says Michael Ocasio, SBDC-OC chief executive officer. “This conference is always an excellent learning experience and provides pivotal opportunities for our team to connect with our industry as well as with each other.”
